MuggleNet are running a new contest to win a copy of Dear Mr. Potter, a book full of fan-written entries about experiences in the Potter fandom, edited by Lily Zalon. To win the competition, you must write an essay of no more than 500 words about how the Harry Potter series has affected your life. In just over a week, the new HPN² project will be announced, and we have one final clue for you to ponder before the announcement. The clue is that the Harry Potter News Niffler may be following J.K. Rowling's lead in terms of social media... Remember to tell all of your Potter friends about the new project, as it's something that everyone in the Harry Potter fandom can enjoy.

Happy birthday to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Orlando theme park, which turns one year old today! Here's to many more years of Butterbeer, rides and fun at the park. It has been announced on the LeakyCon 2011 website that the almost-complete programming schedule has been released, including signings with the stars, discussions and keynotes. It looks like an incredibly exciting event for everyone attending! Don't forget that Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley), Arthur Bowen (Albus Severus Potter), Ellie Darcey-Alden (Young Lily Evans), Will Dunn (James Sirius Potter), Ryan Turner (Hugo Weasley), Rohan Gotobed (Young Sirius Black) and Benedict Clarke (Young Snape) will be doing a keynote at the conference. The event will also include a ball, photo opportunities and Quidditch.

Don't worry, as it it's just another couple of weeks to go before you find out exactly what the new site project will be. Today's clue is that the project as a whole will consist not just of one activity, but several projects going on throughout the summer (or winter, depending on where you are!), and they will hopefully be great fun for anyone who's a Potter fan. Look out for the project details at the end of June! In the meantime, tell your Potter friends about the upcoming project, as the more the merrier!

As I'm finding it rather difficult to keep the new project here at HPN² to myself, I'll give you all a couple of hints in the weeks before I announce what it is. The first hint is that something is happening in July, and not just the obvious. Full details of the project will be released here at the end of June.

PotterCon 2012, the entirely Internet-based Harry Potter conference that is taking place in September 2012 have just announced on their Twitter account that there will be over 100 hours of programming! So far this is set to include Wrock concerts, discussions and more. Hands up who's looking forward to PotterCon!
