                              Events

As many of you will know, there are many Harry Potter events going on across the globe, but for some of us, very few of them are convenient enough to attend. Hopefully this page will evolve to give you details about past and upcoming Harry Potter-related events, from the amazing conferences to the (hopefully plentiful!) book signings.
Also, have a look at some of our event reports!

                              MuggleFest Celebration

                              1st-31st July 2011
The Oshkosh Public Museum, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA

MuggleFest is a month-long Harry Potter celebration/exhibition at the Oshkosh Public Museum in Wisconsin. It includes a costume contest on the 14th July and a celebration of Harry Potter's birthday on the 31st July. There will be a sorting ceremony, opportunities to gain house points, wand-making, quill-making and gnome toss in the grounds! It sounds like great fun, and props will be on show as well. Luckily, we hear that muggles are welcome too!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 New York Premiere

                              11th July 2011
New York City, New York, USA

This is the US premiere for the final Harry Potter film - Deathly Hallows Part 2. It is just four days before the release of the actual film and is one of the premieres taking place across the globe for the last Potter film.

                              LeakyCon 2011

                              13th-17th July 2011
                              Orlando, Florida, USA

With such spectacular programming and some fantastic ideas, there is no doubt that LeakyCon 2011 is the ultimate fan conference. Unfortunately, a 'hop across the pond' is necessary for those of us who live in the UK. At around the end of April 2011, it was announced that there are 400 tickets left for LeakyCon. Programming currently seems to include a private event in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park, a midnight screening of Deathly Hallows Part 2, podcasts from MuggleCast and PotterCast, a visit from Team Starkid, and more! Sounds like every Potter fan's dream...

                              DiaCon Alley 2011

                              21st-24th July 2011
                              Canterbury, Kent, England
Not sure if you heard right? A HP conference/convention in England? It's true! The University of Kent will be hosting one of the rare UK Harry Potter conferences, with tickets currently priced at around £50 - £55 and accommodation at £75 - £111. So far, the programme seems to include practical workshops, academic discussions and a ball, which costs £35 extra.

                              PotterCon 2012

                              7th-9th September 2012
                              The Internet

PotterCon 2012 is Wizarding Life's answer to LeakyCon, except this time, it's entirely online for everyone to attend! With wrock concerts, in-character discussions and more, this is bound to be a huge success, and an added bonus is that the only thing you'll need is an Internet connection to join in the fun. Look out for more information about the upcoming conference on Wizarding Life.
                              Update:
Tickets are now on sale, and are priced at $15 with a later increase of $5.
